The performance difference between these two drives seem minimal. Now you’re telling more: Please try again now or at a later time. I tried taking the jumper off with no luck.

Running XP pro safa latest etc etc. Finally got the update to work. Ran the MAxtor MAxblast util to format drive. In this instance, I took the jumper off completely and the drive was recognised.
